Saxophone Tutor
Anna Brooks is a highly accomplished saxophonist, arranger, and educator whose career spans major international tours, session work, theatre, television, and education. Equally at home in jazz, funk, pop, and classical settings, she is known for her technical excellence, creative adaptability, and deep understanding of musical styles across genres. She brings a wealth of real-world experience to her teaching, and a rare combination of technical mastery, stylistic flexibility, and magnetic musical presence to her performance.
A longstanding member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Anna has performed worldwide at major venues and festivals. She previously spent over a decade touring and recording with Brooklyn Funk Essentials, and her live, session, and music preparation work includes performing with, arranging, and recording for artists including RAYE, Rod Stewart, Gregory Porter, Self Esteem, Incognito, Joss Stone, Jade Thirlwall, and CMAT, as well as various BBC productions. She is currently touring Europe with the large-scale orchestral electronic dance music production SYNTHONY, performing in stadiums as a featured saxophone soloist alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra, DJ, and light show.
A First-Class BMus (Hons) graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Anna now teaches saxophone and improvisation at the institution. Drawing on her extensive professional experience, she supports students in developing creative, flexible, and sustainable careers as musicians. She also delivers workshops and masterclasses across the UK, helping to educate and inspire the next generation of instrumentalists and improvisers.
